This was a first for me, I did a set at the Company House for Bill Wood of Picnicface, where the show was set up for comedy and Bill does an interview with the comics before their set. I like that little quirk, and I think it helps relax some of the more nervous comics, and also can acquaint the audience with a comedian beforehand so they feel they know them. In my case I enjoyed the bit before with Bill, but I wonder if it didn’t hurt my set because we talked about my ex-wife and my divorce before my set and that might have put people off about me. In any case, my set was okay, but not as many laughs as I’d hoped for.
I will be going back again though, and trying out some newer material when I do.
